Official Competition Rules

1. Competition Overview

What's Up Trivia is a skill-based knowledge competition platform where competitors answer 15 multiple-choice questions to earn sponsored leaderboard rewards. Outcomes depend entirely on knowledge and quick thinking, not chance. This is a competitive quiz platform, not a gambling product.

2. Eligibility

• Practice Mode: Users aged 13 and above
• Classic Mode & Tournaments: Users aged 13 and above
• Must be a resident of Nigeria
• One account per person (strictly enforced)
• Must provide accurate registration information

3. Competition Format

3.1 Questions

• 15 questions per round
• Multiple choice format with 4 options (A, B, C, D)
• Questions increase in difficulty as you progress
• Questions are randomly selected from our question database
• Categories include: General Knowledge, History, Science, Geography, Sports, Entertainment, and more

3.2 Timer

• 12 seconds per question (standard)
• 10 seconds per question (Turbo Mode - integrity measure)
• Timer starts when the question is displayed
• No extensions granted for any reason
• Timeout = wrong answer

3.3 Answering

• Reply with A, B, C, or D only
• First valid answer is recorded
• Answer cannot be changed once submitted

4. Reward Structure

4.1 Leaderboard Reward Tiers

Sponsored rewards are structured as a tier ladder. Each correct answer advances you to the next tier:

4.2 Milestone Tiers

• Q5 (₦1,000) and Q10 (₦10,000) are guaranteed milestone tiers
• Reaching a milestone tier secures that amount
• If you fall short after Q5 but before Q10, you keep ₦1,000
• If you fall short after Q10, you keep ₦10,000

4.3 Reward Limits

• Daily Maximum: ₦30,000 per user
• Top Tier Cooldown: 5 days after earning the ₦50,000 top tier reward

5. Lifelines

5.1 50:50 Lifeline

• Type "50" or "5050" to activate
• Removes 2 incorrect answers
• Leaves 2 options (including the correct answer)
• Can only be used once per round

5.2 Skip Lifeline

• Type "SKIP" to activate
• Current question is replaced with a new one
• Same difficulty level maintained
• Can only be used once per round

6. Access Credit System

• Classic Mode requires 1 access credit per round
• Access credits are purchased through secure payment processing
• Access credit packages: 3 for ₦500, 7 for ₦1,000, 15 for ₦2,000
• Access credits never expire
• Access credits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have no monetary value outside the platform
• Access credits grant participation only and are not stored value or convertible currency

7. Reward Redemption

• Type "CLAIM" after earning a reward to initiate processing
• Provide valid Nigerian bank account details
• Account name must match registered name
• Redemption requests must be made within 72 hours
• Reward processing completed within 12-24 business hours
• KYC verification required for amounts over ₦10,000
• Unredeemed rewards after 72 hours are forfeited

8. Fair Competition & Prohibited Conduct

The following are STRICTLY PROHIBITED and will result in permanent ban:

• Creating or using multiple accounts
• Using bots, scripts, or automation tools
• Using external resources during timed rounds (search engines, AI assistants, etc.)
• Screen sharing or receiving external assistance
• Sharing accounts or having others compete on your behalf
• Colluding with other competitors
• Exploiting bugs or system vulnerabilities
• Using stolen payment methods
• Providing false information

9. Integrity Measures

9.1 Turbo Mode

If suspicious timing patterns are detected (3+ consecutive answers at 10.5 seconds or slower), Turbo Mode activates:

• Timer reduced to 10 seconds
• Competitor must type "GO" to continue
• Failure to respond results in round termination

9.2 Other Measures

• CAPTCHA verification during rounds
• Device fingerprinting and tracking
• Behavioral analysis and pattern detection
• Response time monitoring
• KYC identity verification

10. Disputes

• Round sessions are logged for 7 days
• Disputes must be raised within 7 days of the round
• Valid disputes may result in access credit refunds
• All decisions by our team are final

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these rules at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated rules.
